# Beware Of Man

Mother duck left her duckling free,

"Go, enjoy, play free, in the lake,

I have taught you all,that I have,

Be alert,Take care,and be safe.

Whenever you touch the land-

Four-footed animals are there,

These animals kill and eat us-

Then, run and escape, don't dare."

Duckling floated and,jumped,

Came near shore, under the sky,

Listened to His own voice,

Enjoying echo of His own cry.

Near the shore of the vast lake,

A man pointed, and fired his gun,

Duckling just escaped and cried,

Ran madly for life, forgot all fun.

Later,He told his beloved mother-

"He was lovable, two-footed, like us,

But he was most dangerous creature,

I was just dead Mom,I was so nervous !

Four-footed animals kill only for hunger,

This brutal  animal-animal-I can't blame,

O!What a cruel, dangerous creature he was,

Was he the devil,playing butcher's game?"

ANIMAL KINGDOM (33) Die Free

Die Free


His master took him out,
From his metal cage,
Caught him in firm grip,
Looked with cruel gaze.

"My dear naughty parrot,
You flutter,freedom I give,
Now,I cut your wings,
Fly,fly,anywhere to live."

He left open, the gate,
Threw the wings away,
Laughed,patted the parrot,
without a word to say.

In dark night,parrot came out,
One step-looked back.His past,
His cage,his heaven,his prison,
Next step,then next-all was lost.

He is sure to die,cannot survive,
Cat will catch hold of him,
A bus will crush him outside,
A snake attack,when light is dim.

He will fall in a man-hole,
Children, with stones, will chase,
He wIll be diet of any animal.
Death has unlimited dreadful ways.

Other parrots will discard him,
No group will be ready to accept,
He cannot fly,no wings,no parrot,
Their company,he cannot get.



In dark night,his path is unknown,
From horizon death seems to come,
A moment- thin ray of light flashes,
A thunderstorm-everything keeps mum.


He goes ahead with blind steps,
Same light flashes behind a tree,
Praises him-He was born free,
He will die free.

The first light revealed to his eyes,
Was from rising sun of the forest,
He inhaled the first wild fragrance,
In lap of mother nature,he was guest.

That baby elephant was born free,
Dense forest was his play-ground,
Protected by his group and kins,
He freely wandered all-around.


Once, was caught in man-made trap,
As his fate was written on black stone,
A few trained elephants came there,
They pushed him to the near-by town.

He faced starvation for some days,
Was punished,was tied with chains,
Was taught,forced to obey commands,
He fought with all sufferings and pains.

Behind wooden-bars.he learnt three lessons,
-Earth awards freedom;and world? Slavery.
Elephant is the biggest enemy of elephant.
Death is the ultimate,easy path, to be free.

After his training,he will be grand elephant,
He may be covered with gold, in temples,
May be a decoration piece,for high ranks,
May transport huge logs, with trunk- skills.

He may be termed as biggest grand animal,
Only,he has to surrender his strength,and brain,
Only emotions,his thoughts-rest doing nothing,
Till death,only to put on, an invisible tight chain.

 ANIMAL KINGDOM  (23)  Mr. Gentle Ass

Meeting was going on in the club-house,
All animals agreed,nodded their skull,
Lion asked,"When man can be a gentleman,
Why animal cannot be gentle- animal ?"

All animals argued to win that title,
First, the lion said,"I am pure gentle,
I never kill anybody without hunger,
My prey comes to me,at his own will,"

Crocodile said,"I say-excuse me- at first,
And say-thank you,please-in the last,
I gently swallow the prey,without harm,
My gentle action is quick and fast."


The bear argued and claimed the title,
"When I meet people,I play with them,
Hug them,encircle them in my arms,
Alas ! They don't understand my game."

Between discussion, one name was cow,
She was common choice for gentleness,
 As universal law of meeting, objection came-
"Two terrific horns and gentle?-just guess."

Finally, agreement reached on one name ,
Ass was selected the most gentle creature,
Polite,sober,hard- working,obedient,calm,
With loud shaking voice,a solemn preacher.

Suddenly, a jackal tried to test his gentleness,
He pulled, twisted his tail-once,twice,thrice
The ass raised back leg,hammered hard hit,
 Bleeding jackal was thrown away-no choice.

The ass calmly said in sweet polite tone-
" Respected jackal sir,you fell in the dust,
 Sir,you lost four teeth, now kindly endorse-
-In gentleness race,Mr.Gentle Ass is the first."

ANIMAL KINGDOM (5)The Knowledge

Meeting was going on, in full swing,
They came to discuss a serious task,
All of them were domestic animals,
They had only one question to ask.

Why man is so superior animal?
How he became the master of all?
One time,he was among we animals,
What is mystery of this rise and fall?

An old parrot,told in serious tone,
"I eat chilly,man eats knowledge,
This food, he gets from the books,
This tasty food lies in every page."

Dog said, books make them great,
Cat was next to second this thought,
Horse jumped to praise the books,
And poor ass kept mum,among the lot

All domestic animals agreed to this-
That wild animals are crude and rude,
All domestic, are close to wise men,
Though man is dressed,they are nude.

Monkey was clever to steal the book,
For human race,he was next to kin,
Although theft was an evil,a crime,
For social- cause,he committed this sin.

A gentle cow was elected their leader,
They started learning, by reading  the book,
It covered topics of science and progress,
This stolen book gave a shining look,
All animals read and gained  knowledge,
They knew about earth,moon,and mars,
The book told them good deeds and faith,
 Life of great men,angles,devils and wars.

 Animals knew,why they remained animals,
And man reached from cave to moon,
Slavery became the poor animal's fate,
And knowledge was man's gifted boon.

But one day this happened by chance,
When a cow was near the reading-hall,
She saw a little girl dancing and laughing,
Playing merrily with a charming doll.

As usual, a heavy blast took place,
There was dust,darkness, everywhere,
Crowd,cry, calamity, filled the sky,
Death was dancing,in hell's fare.

The cow was filled with terror and shock,
Hardly she could see in chill and cool,
The laughing girl was nowhere seen,
The doll was laying in blood-pool.

Animal- leader cow was crying and weeping,
She was seeing the climax of knowledge,
For this, the man  conquered the earth?
For this,the man once left the forest and cage?

The cow saw the fallen reading-hall,
"Thanks God! animals are in animal-age"
She looked at the torn pages of the book,
And started eating, book of knowledge.
