ANIMAL KINGDOM (24)The Great Lion King

Once the lion king summoned one old jackal,
And His Majesty,the great lion king roared-
"Though, I AM- the third degree of greatness,
Let my greatness be,more and more soared".
"So you make such a wide publicity for me,
That the forest, land, sky, animals may sing-
One-and only one echo-Lion king the great,
Immortal is our king,long live our king."
Poor jackal spread this message all around,
His team worked hard to glorify the King,
They coined slogans,long verses in praise,
Poems for worship,that animals may sing.
Messages were engraved on the flat rocks,
Statues were made inside the whole forest,
Rallies were held,all publicity was done-
-that Lion King is the greatest,he is the best.
Jackal made no extra efforts in his campaign,
Crowd of wandering animals came with him,
Everybody wanted the favor of Lion King,
River of flattery was flowing,for all to swim.
Lion King was pleased with jackal's efforts,
He was summoned to come to the Lion's den,
Lion laughed, and caught his neck in his grip,
He roared,"I like you, dear, as much as, I can."
"You have rendered good service to your King,
I am great,I am the greatest ruler in the forest,
Now tell me, what is the public opinion about me,
And what you think,what you feel,am I the best?"
Pressure on the jackal's neck was increasing,
He whispered,"You be immortal,that all-I wish,
For me,O king,you are the most precious jewel,
For you,my Lord,I am the most delicious dish."
