ANIMAL KINGDOM: Animal Kingdom (59) THE NEST
Animal Kingdom (59) THE NEST
The Nest
************
With the rise of dawn,
Flew a love-bird pair,
And sat on a dead tree,
Which stood in open air.
A tiny leaf was peeping out,
life, emerging as the guest,
On that branch of dead tree,
Love-birds started making, nest.

Animal Kingdom (58) BORN FREE
BORN FREE
**************
This parrot was a beloved pet of the family,
Once, he was liberated from his own cage,
His feathers were cut, by the house owner,
He jumped with joy, after many, many days.
He gazed at the floor, the ceiling, so high,
Long hall to play, dance, roll over, and run,
To peep outside, the sun, the endless blue sky,
Tree peaks, flying birds, nestlings making fun.
He was trained to say a few words, to talk,
Learned to welcome the guests, and, to greet,
To sing a song, bow down his head, and obey,
Pretend to smile and laugh, and happy to meet.
He even walked in the garden and the yard,
looked at other birds flying outside, in space,
He fluttered his growing feathers, then the sky,
He dreamed- very soon, he will fly high and high.
Then one day, his master firmly gripped his neck,
Threw him, in his cage, under the sky and stars,
His dreams and visions, all echoed in his ears-
'You are born free; your destiny is to die, behind the bars'.

ANIMAL KINGDOM: ANIMAL KINGDOM(63) The Journey********************...
ANIMAL KINGDOM(63) The Journey
*************************************
He was sad, was laying alone,
In the dark, in dense forest,
All of them had gone away,
Advising him to take the rest.He was an old, sick elephant,
Gazing with half-open eyes,
Dark shadows, all around him,
Floating far and near-sink and rise.
Members of his herd had departed,
Paying him great respect and regard,
He was the leader of their group,
His leadership was firm and hard.
He was the proud winner in life,
Who was defeated only by age,
His life-span was the golden book,
And now was this last, dark page.
He closed his eyes, and thought,
''Why I am now worshiped by all,
Why they shower such sympathy on me,
Why my image has become so tall?'
'No wild animal comes near me,
This area has become restricted zone,
They see me, and turn their eyes,
As if,I am an inert tree, rock, or stone.'
The elephant tried to raise his trunk,
But was not able to lift the same,
He remembered those sunny days,
When shower bath was his regular game.
He tried to see in darkness, but in vain,
No monkey, no deer, none there to play,
No cuckoo was jumping on his back,
No baby-elephant, laying in mud and clay.
A few days ago, he had met with a lion,
Who was called the great forest king,
In past,he had wrapped the lion in his trunk,
And had thrown him away after a swing.
Now, the lion looked at him with pity,
He did not roar, nor showed the sharp nail,
-Quietly, moved around with sympathy,
And touched the forehead with his tail.
His family gave him a cold response,
His near and dear had turned their eyes,
Yet he was decorated with great honor-
'Most respected, senior, old, and wise.!'
His enemies had become neutral to him,
His friends kept a cautious distance,
He was alone with his huge heavy body,
loneliness was his surrounding fence.
With all efforts and attempt, he stood up,
Trembling and shaking, he walked ahead,
Towards an unknown mysterious valley,
As his past, ancestors had always said.
Wild elephants used to go for last journey,
For ever, to disappear from sight,
Between high mountains that valley was,
Without echo, sound ,life and light.
It was a myth spread among elephants-
If they ignore the ancestral call, in the last,
and the decaying heap of ivory shatters,
The valley, itself reaches them very fast.
Leaving behind the empty frame of glory,
This old wild- elephant slowly vanished in dark,
A new portrait, painted with honor and regard,
Was waiting for nature- frame, in elephant-park.

ANIMAL KINGDOM (60) The Scarecrow
The Scarecrow
*********************
A frightened pigeon looks at that-
the scarecrow, which is ugly and horrifying,
Which stands erect to guard the green field,
From the birds, above, randomly flying.
The pigeon flies near that, and goes away,
He is too afraid of this, motionless figure,
why this huge thing does not move or act,
Though it seems to stand still; full of vigor?
This is guarding the field, all day and night,
In rains, thunder, storm, and prickly heat,
in broad day-light, and lone, dark night,
Nobody to tell it a word, nobody to meet.
With all courage and strength, pigeon flew,
Came and sat on the scarecrow's erect head,
Put the grain's seeds in it's open, wide mouth,
Without caring, it is anything- live or dead.
The pigeon told a lot, without saying a word-
"You poor creature, terror, horror is your duty,
We are all bound by eternal laws of Nature,
Compassion, sympathy and love is my beauty.
Guard and watch all around the green field,
Create the hatred, which is your beloved game.
And I will always go on doing all good for you,
My dear 'BIZZUKA'-I give you this lovely name."

Animal Kingdom (36) Fly
FLY
******
He flies high and high,
To the top limit of mesh,
Soft wings strike the bars,
Like a smash of lash.
This parrot is new guest,
Shifted in this cage,
Time will melt all his dreams,
In the number of days,
O dear,forget the sky,
Forget the flight,
Be a beauty,a showpiece,
In shining cage,so bright.
One day,with passage of time,
Age old sun will be new,
Limitless space will spread arms,
Sky will come to kiss you.
You will be free from bondage,
To be thrown out of cage,
Mother Nature will shelter you,
In divine lap,beyond all age.
Death will be the glittering gate,
To enter the open sky,
Death will break all chains,
Then you will fly,fly.and fly.

(35) LOVE
LOVE
***********
The parrot was ill in the cage,
No movement, no activity of life,
A starling flew and flew around,
Watched his life and death strife.
The master was sure of his death,
Master opened the cage-gate at last,
To let him fly away, for last breath,
Above,in open space,in forest,so vast.
'Parrot may fly away, cage be empty,
To clean it next day,for a new bird',
But a miracle happened in the night,
Inside cage,Life fought a solemn gird.
Little starling was sitting in the cage,
Was feeding the parrot thr' her beak,
Though, freedom was most precious virtue,
Bondage of love, surpassed all the peak.
