Let Me See

The old, old, round- shouldered tree,

This old peepal tree, was, brutally cut,

Branches fell down to cover vast area,

But spared a nearby poor dweller's hut.

I was shocked to see, the death penalty,

Imposed on the Peepal, to beautify the street,

I recollected  childhood days under the tree,

My mates, games, dust, quarrels-all so sweet.

I tried to talk in grief, but  Peepal stopped me ,

"Please stop. ,just wait, let me see and enjoy,

This little pigeon sibling, sitting on my branch,

He is one foot above ground, dancing like toy.

He jumps on the ground, ,goes up, again jumps,

He may be, my tenth generation resident- I see,

 Soon, he will learn to fly, high, high, and high, 

From there, will look at me, will never find me.

I am busy, enjoying this eternal game of nature,

You please come tomorrow, with a lovely wreath,

We will be in grief, in silence, for two minutes,

We both, in silence, will mourn MY death."

She was shocked to see the scene, 
All her dreams scattered in a moment, 
She could not balance herself in air,
And fell down below,on top of a tent.

Thunderous noises were echoing all over,
Machines were digging, leveling the land,
HER tree,her own tree,her home, laid dead,
The female pigeon's vision,lost in the sand.

A piece of fruit,from her beak,fell down,
Her nest,her siblings-nothing,only dust,
Many homeless birds were flying in sky,
Death was chasing,struggle was the must.

Mother pigeon tried to call her children,,
But her futile efforts could only rebound,
Men,machines,and the space filled with-
Deafening and crushing  ocean of sound.

She spread her wings;fluttered,flew in sky,
Looked down,everything,-all,she had lost,
This was not the first tragic event of life,
But was next of  calamities,running so fast.

Storms had destroyed her nest many times,
Snakes had often eaten her eggs in the past,
Rain,flood had washed away, her small nest,
Her life partner had gone for food: was lost.

She flew and flew, in lap of mother nature,
No any choice,but only to exist, to survive,
Only to chase the next breathe,and to Be,
Except her being,nothing left to deprive.

A Supreme Command whispered in her ears,
"You tiny creature-fly,live,in space,all around,
 You have many,many,struggling lives, in one life,
Death is only once, life is limitless,unbound."

 ANIMAL KINGDOM (14) Fly, fly,----and FLY

She was a beautiful hen,
Little female of pigeon,
Was hatching her egg,
Imagined her dream vision-

-' Little pigeon will come out,
She will feed in his beak,
She will guard him day-night,
New-born will be too weak.

She will teach him to fly,
Up above; in the forest,
Rivers, and mountain peak,
Above trees,earth's chest.'

But destiny played it's role,
A pipe's blow-and nest fell,
To hit the ground from height,
Her heaven dropped into hell .

Her dream- egg was broken,
Nest became a  trash heap,
She was dumb and shocked,
Tried; but she could not weep.

White-washing was going on,
New building shined with proud,
'Heaven's Garden' reflected beauty,
How a dirty nest,there, be allowed ?

She gently touched the wet straw,
Is it so hard to live- to survive?
Human hands are so potent, so cruel?
They may feed,they may deprive?

Fury of mother Nature ends the life,
Eagle targets her from long distance,
Snake tries to trace her innocent eggs,
All around her,death spreads a fence.

She makes the nest with hard labor,
Storm ruins it with vigor,blind force,
One life-one death, balance on beam,
Destiny writes,creature has to endorse.

-Death stretches it's arm in hundred ways,
She took a deep sigh,looked at the sky,
A thin flash of life,called-'the only option,
Death is chasing you ; fly,fly--and FLY.'
